Stamped concrete, commonly referred to as patterned concrete,
is colored concrete imprinted with concrete stamping tools
designed to resemble brick, slate, flagstone, stone, tile and
wood. Concrete stamping mats such as decorative concrete
stamps and seamless texture skins can be used to beautify pool
decks, driveways, entries, courtyards, and patios. Due to the
wide array of concrete stamps or patterned concrete stamps,
the colors available and the cost of stamping concrete
patterns in relation to the materials it is a substitute for,
the choice of stamped concrete is becoming more popular and
frequent. Designer
concrete
colors and stamped concrete patterns for imprinting concrete
are often chosen to blend with other stone, tile or decorative
concrete elements at the residence. Concrete design that
incorporates steps, courtyards, and fountains can be achieved
as well. Textured concrete can also be blended with other
decorative concrete products such as exposed aggregate and
acid stain, along with a particular pattern, such as running
bond brick, hexagonal tile, slate, worn rock or stone.
Concrete provides the perfect canvas for creating an
economical replica of more expensive materials, and yet still
maintaining a very natural, authentic look.
Driveways are a common choice for decorative concrete stamp
applications.
Stamped concrete pool decks installed with concrete stamping
mats clearly stand out from a plain broom finished pool deck.
Stamped concrete can be part of a stunning entry way to a
residence. In some cases the entry or front porch is built
larger than normal to create places to sit or gather to talk.
Steps can be stamped concrete and raised flowerbeds can be
tooled to match the flatwork's stamp pattern.
