DESCRIPTION AND BASIC USE • MATCRETE® Diamond Seal Plus 400™ Lacquer Sealer is a high-performance, high-solids clear sealer that protects concrete surfaces from stains and mildew. Designed to be slip-resistant, Diamond Seal Plus 400 is ideal around properly prepared pool decks and areas where water or moisture can accumulate. Manufactured specifically for porous masonry surfaces such as interior or exterior masonry and concrete-type surfaces. Use on plain, colored, textured, or exposed-aggregate concrete, porous brick, natural and manufactured stone, stucco, slate, unglazed tile, flagstone and other various porous masonry surfaces. Diamond Seal Plus 400 will provide a penetrating, non-yellowing satin finish and will darken the porous masonry surface; thereby, allowing the treated surface to appear damp.

LIMITATIONS • Not for sale or use in certain air quality districts. Verify compliance with your local dealer or representative. The V.O.C. of Diamond Seal 400 does not exceed 400 GPL. Not recommended for pre-sealed or dense surfaces, such as glazed tile, marble or granite, dense brick, dense slate, or terrazzo.

STORAGE • Store in a safe place, out of direct sunlight, heat, sparks and open flame. Keep containers tightly sealed and upright to prevent leakage when not in use. Do not transfer contents into bottles or other unlabeled containers. In case of spillage, absorb, sweep up, and place in a proper waste disposal container. DO NOT allow product to freeze. Shelf life is approximately 12 months.

COVERAGE • Coverage requirements vary depending upon the porosity of the surface being sealed. One gallon of Diamond Seal Plus 400 will cover approximately 200 - 300 square feet.

PREPARATION • New concrete should be cured at least 28 days, prior to application. Surfaces must be dry, porous and free of foreign contaminants. It is recommended to thoroughly remove all previously applied sealer/s. Pressure washing and power scrubbing may be necessary. Remove all efflorescence, oil, dirt, wax, old paints, sealers, and curing compounds. Rinse thoroughly. Allow the surface to dry at least 24 hours. Soaps and detergents should never be used for cleaning. Dried residue on the surface will prevent the sealer from bonding. Acid washing is not recommended. If in doubt, test the surface by sprinkling with water. If water beads up on the surface, additional cleaning and testing must be done.

APPLICATION • For best results, sealer should be applied when the surface temperature is between 55°F and 85°F. Apply during the cooler part of the day when the surface is shaded. Stir contents thoroughly before and during the entire application process to maintain full suspension and even distribution of the sealers additives. After thorough preparation of the surface, Diamond Seal Plus 400 can be applied using a natural brush, or a good-quality nap roller. Apply from 1-2 light, even coats (depending on porosity of surface) with a nap roller. CAUTION: If using a roller to apply sealer, be careful to apply in thin coats while maintaining a wet edge. Do not re-roll wet areas. Allow 24 hours between coats for proper curing. For best results, it is recommended that foot traffic remain off the finished sealed surface for 24 hours. For heavy foot traffic, allow 72 hours for curing. Do not apply on rainy or foggy days. Excess moisture will not allow the sealer to dry properly.

CLEANING OF TOOLS • Tools and hands may be cleaned with Acetone following the manufacturer's cautions. Disposal of any unused material, if desired, must comply with Local, State and Federal regulations.

MAINTENANCE • The sealed surface should be inspected periodically for areas of thin or traffic-worn sealer and reapplied as needed.

WARNING • NOT RECOMMENDED for dense surfaces. Apply in thin coats, only on surfaces textured for slip resistance. If applied too heavily or applied to dense surfaces, the sealer may become slippery, especially in areas where water accumulates. Diamond Seal Plus 400, like any good finish, reduces the porosity of the surface being sealed. Be aware that oil, water, mud or other materials on a sealed walkway can make the surface slippery and therefore potentially dangerous. Good housekeeping and maintenance are important; good drainage is imperative. Add MATCRETE Rhino Grip™ Slip- Resistant Additive to Diamond Seal Plus 400 to increase slip-resistance properties if needed. Do not use where hydrostatic pressure is possible.

CAUTION • KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Use only with adequate ventilation. Keep away from heat sparks, static electricity and open flames. Before using or handling, read the Material Safety Data Sheet and Warranty. DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY. Do not breathe vapors or mist. Use only with adequate ventilation and use a respirator when levels are above applicable limits. If using spray equipment, a painter’s mask should be worn. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Close container after each use. Use good hygiene when handling this product and wash and bathe after each use. Be sure to wash clothing after each use.

WARRANTY • This product is not for public use and is intended for use by licensed contractors, experienced and trained in the use of these products. It is warranted to be of uniform quality within manufacturing tolerances. The manufacturer has no control over the use of this product, therefore, no warranty, expressed or implied, is or can be made either as to the affects or as results of such use. In any case, the manufacturer’s obligations shall be limited to refunding the purchase price or replacing material proven defective. The end user shall be responsible for determining product’s suitability and assumes all risks and liability.
