DESCRIPTION AND BASIC
USE • MATCRETEŽ Aqua Seal™ Water-Based Sealer is a high-performance
acrylic coating that provides a scuff resistant, semi-gloss finish on any
porous interior or exterior masonry and concrete-type surfaces. Aqua Seal
deep-penetrating formula will enhance and protect various porous
surfaces; thereby making them resistant to moisture and stains. Use on
colored or uncolored, stamped or exposed aggregate concrete, porous
brick, natural and manufactured stone, stucco, slate, unglazed tile and
flagstone.
LIMITATIONS • Aqua Seal is not recommended for concrete garage
floors or other surfaces where vehicles are parked and in areas of
standing water or prolonged dampness. Do not use where hydrostatic
pressure is possible. Not recommended for pre-sealed or dense surfaces,
such as glazed tile, marble or granite, dense brick, dense slate, or
terrazzo.
STORAGE • Store in a safe place. Keep containers tightly sealed. DO
NOT allow product to freeze. Material that is frozen CANNOT be used when
thawed. Shelf life is approximately 1 to 2 years.
COVERAGE • Coverage requirements vary depending upon the porosity
of the surface being sealed. One gallon of Aqua Seal will cover
approximately 300 square feet.
PREPARATION • New concrete should be cured at least 28 days, prior
to application. Surfaces must be dry, porous and free of foreign
contaminants. Make certain that the bond to any previously applied stain
or sealer is secure by applying sealer to a small area and check for
possible lifting before proceeding. It is recommended to thoroughly
remove all previously applied sealer/s. Remove all efflorescence, oil,
dirt, wax, old paints, sealers, and curing compounds. Rinse thoroughly.
Allow the surface to dry at least 24 hours. Soaps and detergents should
never be used for cleaning. Dried residue on the surface will prevent the
sealer from bonding. Acid washing is not recommended.
APPLICATION • For best results, sealer should be applied when the
surface temperature is between 55°F and 80°F. Avoid using in direct
sunlight. Do not apply on foggy or rainy days. Use only in well
ventilated areas. After proper preparation of surfaces apply evenly using
a low-pressure pump-up sprayer or a short-napped paint roller. Make
certain to wipe off any excess sealer that has not penetrated; unabsorbed
sealer will cause a white residue that cannot be removed to appear. Allow
2-4 hours before using the sealed surface. Prolonged periods of high
humidity or cool weather will increase drying time of material.
MAINTENANCE • The sealed surface should be inspected periodically
for areas of thin or traffic-worn areas. Reapply sealer as needed.
CAUTION • KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Before using or
handling, read the Material Safety Data Sheet and Warranty. DO NOT TAKE
INTERNALLY. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Close container after each
use. Use good hygiene when handling this product and wash and bathe after
each use. Be sure to wash clothing after each use.
